    Summary of Responsibilities

     

    The Georgia Department of Education – Outreach Services of State Schools is recruiting for a DHH Early Intervention Program Manager. This position is responsible for coordinating statewide early intervention services for families with deaf/hard of hearing children by developing and implementing policies and procedures for effective/efficient service delivery.

    Duties include but are not limited to the following:

    + Develop and provide effective program planning, management, and evaluation

    + Review reports and conduct site visits to monitor the performance of contracted early intervention specialists

    + Provide professional and parent development and/or other training activities

    + May represent Georgia PINES on national/state/local committees

    + Evaluate quality of service delivery of the Early Intervention programs of Georgia PINES and family services

    + Communicate regularly with State Schools leadership staff, GaDOE staff, LEAs, and other outside agency personnel in the field of early intervention

    + Make recommendations for changes and improvements based on research and evaluation data

    + Oversee the organization and presentation of ongoing trainings for new and established service providers

    + Organize and conducts meetings with staff

    + Conduct annual evaluation of program staff

    + Present at educational conferences and workshops

     

    Physical Demands : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time. Additional work hours during the week and weekend, including travel may be assigned to meet the needs of the program and families.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following:

    + Completion of a Master's degree in Deaf Education or Speech Language Pathology

    + Leadership certification and experience in program supervision

    + Completion of Georgia PINES Early Intervention training

    + Experience working in family-centered early intervention and family education

    + Experience working in the area of intervention for children who are deaf/hard of hearing

    + Knowledge of varying perspectives around language modalities for young children who are deaf/hard-of-hearing.

    + Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

    + Ability to communicate effectively with Deaf staff and stakeholders using American Sign Language.

    + Advanced computer skills (such as Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom/Teams, Shared File platforms, etc.)

    High school diploma/GED and seven (7) years of program management experience; or two (2) years of experience required at the lower level Education Prgm Spec 3 (EDP032) or position equivalent.
