THE POSITION
Are you looking to showcase your skills and expertise while performing advanced professional library work? The Department of Human Services is seeking a dynamic and driven Librarian 2 to join our team. In this vital role, you will oversee the administration and management of comprehensive library services to fulfill customer requests efficiently and effectively at Warren State Hospital. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will be responsible for directing all activities of library services, including our medical library and patients' library. Duties include cataloging, maintaining, updating, and classifying library materials consistent with accepted professional library standards. Additionally, you will review current professional publications and inform staff of new developments and specific articles of interest in their field. You will also maintain contact with other libraries through computer technology to make outside library materials available to meet the needs of clinicians. This role has considerable independence and the ability to exercise professional judgment and expertise.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
+ Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
+ Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
+ Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
+ Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $59,345.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
+ Two years of professional library experience, and four years of para-professional or technical experience performing library support functions;or
+ Two years of experience as a Librarian 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration);or
+ One year of professional library experience and a master’s degree in library science, library technology, or a closely related field;or
+ An equivalent combination of experience and training.
