The Position

Personnel Analysts are responsible for performing comprehensive personnel functions for a state department, division or agency. Work may involve employee relations, recruitment and selection, classification and compensation, employee development, benefit administration, staffing and payroll.

Under direction, Personnel Analyst 1s perform entry level professional personnel work as described in the series concept in one or more functional areas in Human Resource Management or a State agency.

The Division of Public and Behavior Health is recruiting for a Personnel Analyst 1 located in Las Vegas. The position supports the Human Resource Section within Southern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services (SNAMHS). The Personnel Analyst position is responsible for planning and coordinating the recruitment and selection of the Stein Forensic Hospital positions. This position will supervise and provide leadership to one Personnel Technician 2; manage the background process for the forensic positions; review and audit completed personnel transactions to ensure accuracy; will conduct research, prepare reports, and present findings, including alternative solutions; and provide advice to employees, supervisors and department managers on collective bargaining, policy, and rule interpretation. The position will also manage the leave processes for the Stein facility to include FMLA/PFL, Catastrophic leave, and Worker's Compensation. ***THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE DEPENDING ON THE NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. To Qualify:

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in public administration or a related field; OR three years of experience as a Personnel Technician III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Requirements

A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.

Additional Position Criteria

This recruitment is only open to current classified employees in state service with at least six months of continuous, full-time equivalent service.
