    The Division of Critical Care in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Stanford University seeks a Board-Certified Emergency Medicine and Critical Care physician to join the Department as an Associate Professor/ Full Professor in the University Medical Line or as a Clinical Associate Professor/ Full Clinical Professor in the Clinician Educator Line in the role of **Emergency Critical Care Division Chief** within the Stanford Department of Emergency Medicine and Stanford Health Care.

     

    Critical Care Medicine (CCM) at Stanford Health Care is a leading program that draws local, national, and international referrals. The Emergency Critical Care (ECC) Division is a key part of this multidisciplinary program, providing care in the medical-surgical intensive care units at Stanford, focusing on triage, resuscitation, and early interventions to improve the care of critically ill patients regardless of location within the hospital. The Emergency Critical Care Division Chief contributes critical input into all aspects of patient care and co-leads strategic operational, educational, and scholarly efforts. Stanford's competitive CCM fellowship programs continue to attract some of the brightest future intensivists. Case volume and complexity provide unique opportunities for impactful scholarship, benefiting from cutting-edge, collaborative research programs across departments and schools.

     

    We are particularly interested in candidates who have demonstrated clinical excellence with a strong background in leadership and academic accomplishments in critical care medicine. We seek candidates with administrative, academic, and clinical practice management experience in critical care medicine. The candidate's commitment to the growth of the ECC academic program is paramount to advancing patient care, driving innovation, and mentoring future leaders. The multidisciplinary approach to critical care at Stanford Medicine also requires fostering a collaborative culture and engaging with other participating departments. The Emergency Critical Care Division Chief will represent the department and its faculty in a multidisciplinary setting, including in the medical-surgical and intensive care units at Stanford Medicine. The Emergency Critical Care Division Chief will oversee clinical care, operational strategy, educational, faculty development, and scholarly efforts beyond a single intensive care unit's clinical care and operational needs. Candidates with an established track record of peer-reviewed research and extramural funding are of particular interest.

     

    Applicants must have board certification or equivalent in emergency medicine, subspecialty training, and board certification in critical care medicine.

     

    The major criteria for appointment for faculty in the **University Medical Line** shall be excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, clinical teaching, scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine, and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill. The major criterion for appointment as **Clinician Educators** is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, teaching, administrative and/or scholarship appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill. Academic rank and line will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

    _The expected base pay range for this position is:_

     

    Associate Professor: $356,000 - $374,000

     

    Professor: $389,000 - $404,000

     

    This pay range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. It does not include all components of the School of Medicine’s faculty compensation program or pay from participation in departmental incentive compensation programs.
