    Responsibilities*

    + Plan experiments, prepare samples, analyze them, and interpret the results.

    + Present findings at group meetings and Pharmacology events.

    + Maintain transgenic mouse colony.

    + Genotype and identify transgenic mice using PCR-based screens.

    + Develop new genotyping methods.

    + Prepare resources and reagents that are critical to the success of others experiments.

    + Oversee lab archives, including the antibody and plasmid inventories.

    + Maintain lab supply inventory.

    + Train and mentor junior scientists on how to perform experiments. Ensure that experiments are conducted safely.

    + Act as a liaison with EHS and others to schedule and complete annual inspections.

    Required Qualifications*

    + Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or a related discipline.

    + 1+ years of wet bench research experience.

    + Experience working with and maintaining a transgenic mouse colony.

    + Proficiency in isolating, culturing and purifying mouse T cells; purifying DNA; immunoblotting; and mouse dissection.

    Desired Qualifications*

    + Master's degree in Pharmacology, Biochemistry or related discipline.

    Background Screening

     

    Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
