    Summary: Under the guidance of the Director, the Risk Analyst will work as part of the Risk Management team to further Parkview Health’s goals to eliminate harm to patients and visitors. The Risk Analyst will be primarily responsible for educating coworkers on use of the MIDAS event reporting system, as well as educating leaders on how to navigate the MIDAS system and ensure proper follow up by those leaders when events are reported. In collaboration with other team members, the Risk Analyst will utilize these event reports, as well as any collateral source of information, to identify risks and make recommendations to mitigate those risks. Should a Sentinel Event or other Serious Safety Event occur, the Risk Analyst will be primarily responsible for conducting an immediate investigation including a thorough root cause analysis. They will provide consultation and education to his or her clients within the organization on risk-related topics, including regulatory compliance, clinical documentation, and other industry best practices.

     

    Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Major course work in risk management or a clinical healthcare field preferred but not required.

     

    Licensure/Certification: Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM), Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS), or equivalent, or must obtain within one (1) year of eligibility per the certification requirements.

     

    Experience: Five years of work experience in a healthcare setting or with a provider of services to the healthcare field. Previous risk management experience preferred. Previous experience with MIDAS Care Management system preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Must have good verbal and written communication skills. Must be analytical and detail oriented. Must perform tasks at a high rate of accuracy.
