    A Brief Overview

     

    Partners with the Physician Compensation Manager to provide input and guidance on the compensation and benefits programs for the physicians of the Nebraska Pediatric Practice, Inc. (NPP) and Children's Physicians (CP). Conducts and documents financial analysis projects, data gathering, manipulation, summarization, and analysis of compensation reports, activity, trends and opportunities.

    Essential Functions

    + Leads the implementation and maintenance of the organization’s physician compensation plans for Nebraska Pediatric Practice, Inc. (NPP) and Children’s Physicians (CP). Acts as the technical subject matter expert for physician compensation, collecting and analyzing information from multiple sources. Ensures the compensation plans remain market competitive, fair and compliant while supporting organizational growth and sustainability, maintaining flexibility to properly incent providers based on national and local market trends. Holds self and others accountable to meet stated objectives, outcomes, goals, timetables and commitments, adhering to standards even in the face of unforeseen circumstances. Working closely with leadership, the finance team and recruiting, prepares and maintains compensation models, budgetary and actual forecasts and plans utilizing a variety of factors to include market data, trends, revenue changes, industry trends, recruiting challenges, etc.

    + Conducts market survey analysis, participates in compensation survey data submission, interprets and models salary survey data, creating actionable, market competitive and organizationally sustainable compensation models.

    + Documents and maintains NPP and CP’s compensation philosophy, ensuring compensation is competitive, aligned with organizational goals and sustainable.

    + Ensures compensation decisions are based on the compensation philosophy and within Fair Market Value (FMV).

    + Proposes compensation rates for physicians utilizing established compensation and productivity ranges.

    + Initiates contract renewals to include analysis of wRVU production, performing and documenting compensation calculations and provider letters and communicates contract amendments.

    + Develops reports including findings, options and recommendations for changes in physician compensation as supported by fair market value data for senior leadership.

    + Implements processes and conducts audits to ensure pay is accurate and reflective of contracts.

    + Identifies provider contracts which may warrant updates due to productivity (for example, changing a contract from a salary to production-based model).

    + Collects and prepares payroll documents for processing and answers physician compensation questions as backup to Compensation Analyst.

    + Maintains provider compensation and accrual liability account reconciliations as backup to Compensation Analyst.

    + Participates in annual operating budget related to provider revenue, volumes, compensation, provider benefits; reports and audits wRVUs and other provider production information.

    + Identifies and analyzes the impact of compensation model changes, prepares budgetary impacts and makes recommendations to leadership about changes to the compensation program.

    + Contributes to the physician compensation checklist and approval process.

    + Prepares documentation to validate the fair market value of physician compensation structures; ensures structures fulfill a legitimate business need and are in compliance.

    + Collaborates with leadership, finance, legal and physicians on compensation related matters. Discusses compensation issues with providers as needed.

    + Identifies and implements process improvements with input from stakeholders.

    Education Qualifications

    + Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting, or related field Required

    Experience Qualifications

    + Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in finance, financial analysis and reporting in a healthcare setting required including demonstrated experience working with financial systems, including operations, forecasting and modeling, analysis and budgeting Required and

    + Analytical experience Required and

    + Physician Compensation Experience Preferred
