About IPSD
Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L engines that not only power Caterpillar machines, but also power over 5000 other applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. Job Summary
As a **Maintenance Technician I** **I** **I** at Caterpillar, you’ll bring your expertise to ensure the reliability and efficiency of our advanced production systems. You’ll be responsible for performing advanced mechanical, electrical, and CNC maintenance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role includes troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing complex machinery and equipment, including motors, pumps, electrical panels, and CNC machines. The Maintenance Technician III will adhere to safety protocols, and mentor junior technicians. This position requires hands-on experience with pipefitting tasks such as cutting, threading, welding, and testing piping systems, in addition to reading blueprints and P&IDs. This position requires extensive experience in equipment maintenance, technical problem-solving, and leadership in a manufacturing setting. What you will do:
+ Cut, thread, bend, and weld pipes using hand tools, power tools and pipe bending equipment
+ Install and maintain valves, pumps, compressors and pressure regulators in accordance with safety and operational standards
+ Operate, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical assembly (i.e., fork trucks, conveyors, and robotic equipment)
+ Exercise knowledge of industrial electricity, including single-phase and three-phase power, motors, protective devices, and photo sensors
+ Test piping systems using hydrostatic or pneumatic testing methods to ensure integrity and compliance.
+ Provide professional development and on-the-job training to level 1 and 2 maintenance technicians
+ Troubleshooting pipe routing issues and assist in re-routing to support production layout changes or equipment upgrades
+ Monitor maintenance upkeep checklists to ensure efficient equipment operation
+ Complete work order processes documentation for complete work history and parts inventory tracking
+ Document and correct safety issues to maintain a safe work environment
What you will have:
+ Minimum of 5 years of work experience in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial/electrical production equipment in a manufacturing or operations environment or possess a relevant certification or degree in lieu of experience
+ Advanced experience using hand tools, power tools, and basic maintenance tasks like lubrication, cleaning, and inspections
+ Advanced mechanical knowledge of basic machines (pulleys, levers, etc.), pneumatics, hydraulics, gears, reducers, bearings, lubrication theory, drive components (sheaves, sprockets, chain belts, take-ups), and equipment alignment.
+ Advanced experience with electronics such as photo sensors, PLCs, remote I/Os, servo drives, and variable frequency drives
+ Ability to mentor and train junior technicians, lead teams, and oversee large maintenance projects
What would make you a top candidate:
+ Experience working in a team environment and willingness to train/mentor less experienced technicians
+ Advanced knowledge with AC/DC theory, relays, switches, solenoids, fuses, breakers, power generation and distribution (including 480V 3-phase), electrical safety, lockout/tagout procedures, National Electric Code, digital multimeter operation, and motor theory and protection
+ Advanced knowledge with mechanical knowledge of basic machines (pulleys, levers, etc.), pneumatics, hydraulics, gears, reducers, bearings, lubrication theory, drive components (sheaves, sprockets, chain belts, take-ups), and equipment alignment.
+ Advanced knowledge with PM procedures, including performing PMs, logging completion, etc.
+ Advanced knowledge with production facility’s systems, including conveyors, robotic equipment, and (ASRS, AKL, and Auto Guided Vehicles (AGVs))
+ Advanced knowledge with reading and understand mechanical and building blueprints as well as electrical schematics
+ Advanced experience with all phases of cutting and welding
Physical Requirements:
+ Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time
+ Ability to perform repetitive operations
+ Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

Additional Information:
+ **Shift Information:** This is a day shift position with flexible scheduling Monday through Friday. Standard workdays are 8 hours, with overtime opportunities available as needed to support production.

Summary Pay Range:
$28.85 - $38.10
