    Are you a legal professional with expertise, experience and a passion for leading all aspects of a company’s litigation, we have an exciting opportunity for you with Emerson's Global Enterprise Legal Team. We are recruiting for a Vice President Litigation that will provide support to Emerson globally. This position is located at Emerson’s global headquarters in Clayton, Mo, reporting to our Chief Legal Officer. You will be responsible for all aspects of company Litigation, Claims, and Product Safety strategy and management. You will have a seat on the Chief Legal Officer Leadership team and participate as a leader while representing the Litigation and Claims group.     In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

    + Establish and implement strategies for the effective management of litigation, arbitration, government investigations, pre-litigation claims, and product safety activities involving Emerson on a global basis.

    + Advise the Executive Staff, including the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer on Litigation, Claims, and Product Safety matters, and costs associated with these actions.

    + Oversee and manage the Litigation Group to provide practical, high-quality Litigation, Claims, and Product Safety legal counsel and services to the business.

    + Stay abreast of the litigation industry and related laws, regulations and practices.

    + Formulate and implement strategy for litigation process improvements.

    + Mentor, manage, develop, and train other members of the Emerson Law Department, establishing an effective team culture.

    + Directly manage and otherwise lead a team of legal professionals, supporting their individual development, project management and program execution.

    + Drive talent development to attract and retain talent, build skills, promote inclusion, and strengthen leadership and succession.

    + Lead global efforts to achieve the vision, mission, strategy and initiatives of the department.

    + Manage the Litigation, Claims, and Product Safety budget.

    + Select and manage the work and cost of outside litigation counsel, experts and other contributors.

    + Supervise the conduct of any litigation in which Emerson is plaintiff or defendant, in collaboration with other Law Department groups as appropriate.

    + Influence, in an ethical and legal manner, the adoption and revision of Litigation treaties, legislation, regulations and policies worldwide to align with Emerson’s interests.

    + Continually identify and advance strategic improvement opportunities.

    For This Role, You Will Need:

    + Bachelor’s degree

    + US Law Degree

    + Licensed to practice law in the United States

    + Relevant years of work experience commensurate with the level of this position.

    + Substantive international litigation and arbitration as well as product safety experience

    + Detailed knowledge of US and foreign litigation and claims laws and regulations

    + Excellent communication skills via oral and written English language skills

    + Comfortable working with senior management.

    + Able to travel domestically & internationally to meet business needs.

    + Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.

    Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

    + 15+ years of relevant work experience in Substantive international litigation and arbitration as well as product safety experience
