    Description:

    Position Purpose

    At **Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center** , the Director of Orthopedic Service Lines provides transformational leadership within the **Connecticut Joint and Spine Institute** . This Nurse Leader III role oversees operations across multiple departments, including Orthopedic Administration, Inpatient Nursing, Pre-Admission Testing, PACU, Operating Room Suites, Research, and Perioperative Clinics. The role drives strategic initiatives, fosters interdisciplinary collaboration, and advances professional nursing practice.

    What You Will Do

    + Direct clinical and administrative operations across orthopedic service lines.

    + Collaborate with physicians and service line leaders to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.

    + Promote evidence-based practice, shared decision-making, and continuous professional development.

    + Mentor emerging nursing leaders and foster a culture of excellence.

    + Ensure regulatory compliance and drive performance improvement.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Required** **:

    + Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing.

    + Valid and current Connecticut Registered Nurse (RN) license.

    + Demonstrated nursing leadership experience, which may include roles as a Director, Manager, or equivalent leadership capacity.

    **Preferred** :

    + Master of Science in Nursing (MSN).

    + Ideal candidates will have 7+ years of combined experience in staff nursing, perioperative and orthopedic specialties, and clinical management.

    + Strong background in orthopedic or spine intraoperative care.

    + CNOR (Certified Perioperative Nurse) certification.

    + Familiarity with standards and guidelines from AORN (Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses) or ASPAN (American Society of PeriAnesthesia Nursing).

    + Demonstrated competency in financial management, including budgeting and business planning.

    + Technological proficiency in Microsoft Office and web-based applications.

    + Ability to make strategic decisions and adapt to a dynamic healthcare environment.

    + Passion for advancing professional nursing practice and interdisciplinary care models.
