Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team in Claremont, North Carolina. In this role, you will oversee critical financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, inventory accounting, and compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations. The ideal candidate will bring a strategic mindset and an organized approach to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of financial processes.
Responsibilities:
• Manage the month-end close process, including the preparation of journal entries, variance analysis, and month-end reporting.
• Develop and update monthly forecasts to account for changes in volume, labor, raw materials, and operating expenses.
• Lead the preparation of the annual budget, collaborating with operations to drive year-over-year improvements.
• Publish regular reports on order receipts, shipments, and labor metrics for operational and leadership teams.
• Oversee inventory valuation reports, ensuring reconciliation between ledgers and subledgers, while addressing discrepancies.
• Monitor compliance with the cycle count program and manage excess or obsolete inventory disposal efforts.
• Coordinate Sarbanes-Oxley compliance activities, including documentation, control testing, and process evaluations.
• Propose and implement process improvements within the accounting department to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Supervise a small team of associates, providing mentorship and training to support their development.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including accounts payable, purchasing, and operations, to ensure accurate financial records. Requirements • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including expertise in month-end close, forecasting, budgeting, and compliance.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and functions like SUMIFS and VLOOKUP.
• Familiarity with Microsoft PowerPoint and experience creating detail-oriented presentations.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics 365, or similar systems, as well as Essbase.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to collaborate effectively and recommend sound solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong analytical abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure while maintaining a high level of accuracy and urgency.
