    _The University of Maryland, Baltimore_(UMB)_Health Sciences and Human Services Library (HSHSL)_seeks to hire a Research and Education Librarian. The librarian in this position is a member of a collaborative team dedicated to advancing the library’s research supportand educational goals.The HSHSLserves UMB’s schools of dentistry, medicine, nursing, pharmacy, social work, and graduate studies. The faculty librarian in this position will serve as liaison to the_University of Maryland School of Graduate Studies_.Programs within theschool include the MS in Physician Assistant (PA), MS in Health Sciences, and PhD in Health Professions Education. The successful candidate will assist students, faculty, and staff in the areas of expert literature searching, knowledge synthesis, evidence-based practice, information literacy, and scholarly communication. They work with the seven-member Research and Education Services (RES) department andcolleagueslibrary-wide to develop and deliver_innovative programs and services_,engage with the University community, and participate in professional and scholarly activities. They also serve as liaison between the_UMB Historical Collections_and the School of Graduate Studies. The HSHSL welcomes applications from all backgrounds including underrepresented minorities, persons with disabilities, sexual minority groups and other candidates invested in creating and enriching an inclusive environment through their work and interactions. Entry level candidates are encouraged to apply. *The Research and Education Librarian Responsibilities:* * Cultivates and sustains connections between the School of Graduate Studies and the HSHSL by building collaborative relationships with students, faculty, and staff and advocating for their research and education needs. * Partners with members of the Research and Education Services department to develop innovative programs and services. * Delivers engaging instruction and consultations to students, emphasizing searching skills, finding quality evidence, critical appraisal of resources, and information management. * Consults and collaborates with faculty and staff in support of research and scholarly publishing. * Provides expert searching for systematic reviews, scoping reviews, and other research projects. * Develops workshops and video tutorials on searching, publishing, information management, and other topics of interest to the UMB Community. * Performs historical research related to the School of Graduate Studies on a limited basis. * Consults with the Historical Collections Librarian on the preservation of historical materials related to the School of Graduate Studies (10% effort). * o Actively participates on committees within the School of Graduate Studies, the HSHSL, the University, and within professional organizations. * o Develops inclusive and equitable working relationships with HSHSL colleagues and with UMB students, faculty, and staff. * o Engages in professional development, service, and research activities to enhance professional expertise and maintainoradvance appointment rank. *Reporting**/Work Schedule:* The position reports to the Head of Research and Education Services. UMB and HSHSL support flexible work environments and the development of a vibrant university campus community. Onsite engagement is required by leadership. This position allows for a hybrid telework arrangement. *Status:* This**is a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position. It is funded by the School of Graduate Studies and is not eligible for permanent status. The incumbent will be eligible for promotion and is expected to participate fully as a member of the library’s faculty. Opened in 1998, the library serves as a hub for collaboration and learning on the UMB campus. Since 1983, the HSHSL has been the home of the Network of the National Library of Medicine (NNLM), Region 1 and is the current location of the NNLM Web Services Office.   The HSHSL serves the schools of dentistry, graduate studies, medicine, nursing, pharmacy, and social work, and is open to other campus students including those from the school of law. The library supports approximately 6,700 students in six nationally ranked professional schools and interdisciplinary graduate studies programs. The University offers 97 doctoral, master’s, baccalaureate, and certificate programs.
