• Machine Operator - 3rd Shift

    Job Description:

    Permatex is currently looking for a Machine Operator to join our 3rd shift Manufacturing Team. 3rd Shift hours are Sunday - Thursday, 11:00pm - 7:00am.

    BASIC FUNCTION

    Required to operate filling and packaging equipment according to procedures given by Working Supervisor and/or line lead. Able to lead and assist in training.

    JOB DUTIES

    Performs manually and/or tends machines which perform various packaging functions such as, filling, labeling, packing, blistering or closing containers.

     

    Responsible for minor adjustments, set-ups, changeovers, cleaning and general operation of various filling and packaging machines.

     

    Validates and organizes jobs in accordance with bill of materials and special work instructions based on current and future job orders.

     

    Responsible for conducting quality inspection of goods at the correct intervals, ensuring that product is packaged according to the work order.

     

    Ability to identify problems and assist in troubleshooting/training on the cardboard baler, plastic baler, carton erector, pallet jack, pick and place card/blister adjustments, taper/tape gun, and additional production equipment.

     

    Assists in training assigned full time/temp operators and assists other teams as needed.

     

    Forklift experience required.

     

    Promotes and follows all Environmental, Health, Safety and Quality guidelines and procedures.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    High School Diploma/GED preferred

     

    1-3 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment; preferably automotive or bottling and packaging.

     

    Must be able to speak, understand, read, and write English.

     

    Must be able to perform simple math calculations.

     

    Must be computer literate.

     

    Must be certified to drive low-lift and sit down forklift.

    Compensation Information:

    This position pays between $18-20 an hour depending on experience. 3rd shift also has a $1 an hour extra for shift differential.
