The Department offers an undergraduate major in Psychology, terminal MA degrees in clinical psychology and psychological sciences, as well as an APA accredited PhD program in clinical psychology with concentrations in geropsychology and trauma psychology.

    **Salary/Pay Range** Generally starting at $75,000 - $80,000 per academic year for a 9-month faculty appointment. Opportunities for summer teaching are also available. Compensation will be commensurate upon experience and qualifications. This position is Exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) overtime provisions.

    Summary

    The candidate hired for this position is responsible for teaching various graduate and undergraduate courses for the Psychology Department. Classes will be assigned as needed and efforts will be made to find opportunities for the faculty member to teach in their specialty area of expertise. The candidate to be hired will also be expected to provide clinical supervision to graduate students in Psychology. Faculty are expected to maintain a current and active research program, including providing student mentoring in research. The position also requires service to the department, college, and/or field of study.

     

    The standard workload is 40% research, 40% teaching, and 20% service.

     

    The area of research is open, but candidates with a research program focused on psychological trauma, including trauma prevention and intervention, psychological resilience, or PTSD and other sequelae of trauma exposure are encouraged to apply. Candidates are expected to contribute to the trauma track of the clinical psychology doctoral program. Collaborations are encouraged throughout the university, including the Psychology Department, Lyda Hill Institute for Human Resilience, and other centers/units on campus.

    Essential Functions

    The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

    _Related to Teaching:_

    + Teach graduate and undergraduate courses each academic year, split between the fall and spring semesters.

    + Teach, model, and implement culturally responsive teaching practices.

    + Provide mentoring to students at the graduate and undergraduate levels.

    + Develop thorough syllabi and Canvas content OR follow the provided syllabus and Canvas content for the course.

    _Related to Research:_

    + Contribute to the research profile of the department through publications and presentations of research.

    + Pursue grants and other sponsored program activities.

    _Related to Service:_

    + Serve on department, college, and university committees.

    + Advise undergraduate and graduate students regarding progress in Psychology Department programs.

    Tentative Search Timeline

    + Priority will be given to applications submitted by: **October 1** **st** **, 2025**

    + Potential start date: **August 17, 2026**

    Qualifications

    + To be considered for this role, you must possess a terminal degree in clinical or counseling psychology conferred by August 2026.

    + Must obtain a State of Colorado licensure as a Psychologist within one year of hire.

    + The ideal candidate will possess evidence of specialized training and experience in clinical/counseling and trauma psychology through coursework, clinical practice, and/or research experiences.

    + One semester of teaching experience at either the undergraduate or graduate level is preferred.
