    Description

    Performs microbiological procedures on cosmetic raw materials, bulk and finished goods to ensure compliance with company, industry, and government guidelines/regulations.

     

    Work performed in EL R&D Microbiology requires contact with Biosafety level 2 organisms which have been associated with human disease and hazard. Because of this risk, the daily responsibilities require uninterrupted focus by the analyst to the task at hand due to the potential impact to the analyst, product and potentially the consumer.

     

    Must be able to work in a high volume/fast paced laboratory with agility for change.

     

    Makes media and prepares and labels test tubes and petri dishes for testing

     

    Performs challenge tests to determine preservation effectiveness in research, pilot and production samples.

     

    Performs microbiological tests on raw materials, bulk, and finished goods to determine microbiological content and composition.

     

    Isolates and cultures bacteria and other microorganisms. Identifies microorganisms by microscopic examination and chemical analyses of substances produced by these microorganisms.

     

    Performs Environmental Monitoring in GMP areas, including reporting and trending data

     

    Reviews test results with immediate supervisor and maintains files and records.

     

    Assists immediate supervisor in other functions and duties as assigned.

     

    Knowledge of Windows based computer programs.

    Qualifications

    Associate's Degree in Microbiology, Biology, or Chemistry

     

    Strong technical and interpersonal skills

     

    Good communication skills

     

    Works well both independently and part of a team

     

    Excellent time management skills

    Pay Range:

    The anticipated hourly range for this position is **$55,000.00 to $55,000.00.** Exact hourly rate depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Hourly range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to hourly rate, this position may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location.

     

    In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with the possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
