    This position is in Cargill’s protein and salt business, where we provide wholesome, high-quality food products to a wide range of customers, from foodservice operators and grocery stores to manufacturers and exporters.

     

    Job Purpose and Impact

     

    The Machine Operator will operate production or warehouse machines that are non-similar requiring moderate to complex setup and machine adjustments, perform maintenance and troubleshoot machine issues with in-depth understanding of policy and procedures with regular guidance and providing support to others. In this role, you will maximize throughput and produce quality product while following all Food Safety and regulatory polices as required.

    **Job Type:** Full Time

    **Shift(s) Available:** 3rd shift

    **Compensation:** $20.00/hr.

    Key Accountabilities

    + Setup multiple non-similar machines that require moderate to complex setup and assist others.

    + Feed materials into machine, operate and monitor machine operations, according to production schedules and make complex adjustments as necessary to ensure product specifications are met.

    + Use hand and power tools perform preventative and autonomous maintenance, troubleshoot complex machine issues, support other Operators in troubleshooting and providing guidance.

    + Track production and quality records both manually and electronically.

    + Operate powered mobile equipment including forklift or pallet jack.

    + Unload and prepare product for movement of finished product.

    + Understand and adhere to all safety policies and procedures including equipment lockout-tag outs.

    + Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    + Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer

    + Cargill requires employees be a minimum of 18 years old to work in a production facility

    + Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting safely, with or without a reasonable accommodation

    + Must be able to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc.. with the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE),

    + Must be able to operate machinery

    + Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)

    + Basic use of a computer

    + Ability to work overtime, weekends and holidays with advance notice

    + Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Forklift certified

    + High School diploma or Equivalent job experience

    + Experience in production related work
