    Job Description

    The CBHL II provides an advanced level of leadership in the agency and their work unity and exhibits a high level of clinical leadership and independent practice. The CBHL II is responsible for the coordination of services for individuals with behavioral health needs who have come to the attention of the justice system through law enforcement, courts, and/or jail personnel. The clientele served have complex mental health and/or substance use needs, which are either unmet or poorly coordinated. The CBHL II is a part of a person-centered integration team and works with local systems to coordinate care for individuals experiencing behavioral health crises. Primary duties include crisis intervention, risk assessment, diagnostic impression utilizing the DSM, short-term stabilization services. Treatment provided is based upon sound theoretical principles, with knowledge of the special issues and needs of the population served. The incumbent develops treatment strategies to meet the multifaceted needs of a diverse population, with attention to the policies and procedures of University Health Truman Medical Centers, and is expected to interface with both internal and external treatment providers.

    Job Responsibilities:

    Follow all department and company guidelines. Stay up to date on best practices and perform duties to professional standards. Help coordinate care for patients who need follow-up support after leaving the hospital or entering long-term care. Stay organized and finish work on time. Take a leadership role and work closely with supervisors and team members. Recognize areas for personal growth, seek out learning opportunities, and share knowledge with colleagues. Act as a go-to resource for clinical support. Support quality improvement efforts, promote safety, and respect cultural differences. Provide age-appropriate care that meets each patient’s physical, emotional, and educational needs. Treat everyone—patients, visitors, coworkers—with courtesy and professionalism. Stay informed about laws, regulations, and policies that impact your role. Complete all required training and support the organization’s compliance efforts.

    What You’ll Need:

    + A master’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work, family therapy, or a related field.

    + One of the following Missouri licenses (or working toward it): LCSW, LPC, LMFT, PLPC, LMSW, or PLMFT.

    + If not yet licensed, you must agree to begin the process upon hire and follow all required steps under supervision.

    + Knowledge of mental health terms, diagnosis, and treatment approaches.

    + Basic research skills and a solid understanding of mental health theory and practice.

    + Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.

    + Good judgment, adaptability, and leadership qualities.

    + Must complete training as assigned during onboarding.

    + If driving is part of your role, you must meet company driving policy standards and maintain them.
