About this unit

Butterworth Emergency Department is a very fast paced environment as a Level 1 Trauma Center.  We are focused on providing a strong team-based approach to providing excellent care to all patients! Among our 100 patient care spaces, we treat patients with minor illnesses and injuries as well as more serious chronic and acute health concerns. We are one of the busiest ERs in the Nation with approximately 109,000 patient visits annually. Through a commitment to improving our processes, we have outperformed state and national metrics for patient throughput and are in the top 10% of hospitals for this metric.

Scope of work

Assumes shift accountability for managing, supervising, and coordinating the operational and financial effectiveness and efficiency of the nursing service/ unit of the hospital. Some service lines may require the ability to be available for on-call to better support the nursing service/unit. Additionally, Inpatient Supervisors may be required to fill-in for the hospital supervisor as needed. Key responsibilities include assisting with the following: clinical support, unit based goal setting, program development, fiscal management, resource allocation, standards of care, policy and procedure development and interpretation, performance improvement, performance correction, and coaching and mentoring.Corewell Health Nurse Supervisors are REQUIRED to obtain their Nursing Administration or Professional/Specialty Certification within 12 months of assuming the role, or within 12 months of achieving eligibility to sit for the exam if not eligible upon hire in to the role.

Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) Required.

+ Master's degree in nursing (MSN) Preferred.

+ Skills, knowledge, abilities typically gained through 1+ years of related clinical experience (ICU or Critical Care) Required.

+ MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required.

+ AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required.

+ AHA Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Required.

+ NIHSS Stroke Certification (NIH) Required.
