    Full-Time in Ponderay, ID - Entry Level - Engineering

    Position Summary:

    Generate detailed work instructions to facilitate manufacture and document acceptance criteria of specialty aerospace parts and assemblies.

     

    This is a full-time day shift position - Schedule is a 9/80 pay period. 1st week Mon-Thu 6am-3:30pm & Fri 6am-2:30pm 2nd week Mon-Thu 6am-3:30pm & Fri off.

    Primary Duties, Responsibilities, and Opportunities:

    Learn to interpret and use industry standard specifications, blueprints, drawings, and 3D models commonly utilized by aerospace manufacturers Boeing, Lockheed Martin, and Northrop Grumman among others.

     

    Interface with various shop departments including Quality Assurance inspectors and Mill/Router operators.

     

    Opportunities to cross-train in different departments to diversify skills and assist shop needs.

     

    Work towards a Quality Inspector certification indicating a strong knowledge base, high level of competence, and autonomy as a technical writer.

    Develop the ability to:

    Anticipate and adjust planning documents to avoid potential issues that could arise during part manufacture.

     

    Verify and "error-proof" the planning documents generated by other technical writers.

     

    Perform a “deep dive” on individual parts by reviewing the customer provided engineering data package. Extract all pertinent drawing views, notes, parts and materials. Synthesize all this information into a single complete and concise work order.

     

    Track the progress of and update multiple parts at one time.

     

    Identify missing or discrepant engineering documentation. Contact major aerospace manufacturer representatives to ask clarifying questions.

    Position Requires:

    At least 1 year experience in manufacturing in the aerospace industry or prior experience in a technical writing position.

     

    Proficient computer skills including standard Microsoft Office products.

     

    Attention to detail, excellent memory, organization, critical thinking, multi-tasking, time management.

     

    Retain feedback and desire to grow into the writer role.
