A Day in the Life of a Water/Wastewater Engineer (EIT) at Hanson
Here’s a snapshot of what you would do in this role:
+ Collaborate with licensed engineers to design water and wastewater infrastructure systems
+ Design wastewater collection systems, sanitary lift stations, and treatment units (municipal/industrial)
+ Design water distribution systems, booster pump stations, elevated storage tanks, and treatment units
+ Produce plans, specifications, and technical reports
+ Conduct hydraulic calculations, pump sizing, and modeling
+ Manage permitting processes and support construction administration
+ Apply the latest technologies and stay current with industry innovations
+ Mentor junior staff and manage project tasks
+ Other duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For
We feel the following qualifications would set you up for success in this role:
Skills
+ Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, WaterCAD, XPSWMM, and ArcGIS (preferred)
+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team
+ Familiarity with TCEQ regulations (required)
Education & Experience
+ Bachelor’s degree in civil or related engineering field
+ Minimum 2 years of relevant experience (3–4 years preferred)
+ Fundamentals of Engineering (EIT) certification required
Additional Information
+ Willingness to travel and work overtime as needed
+ Valid driver’s license required
Salary Range: $80,000 – $92,000 per year
