In our Pediatric Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit (https://www.childserve.org/jojos-pediatric-rehabilitation-unit-intro/) , care is more than a service, it’s a sh a red mission. As our RN Appointment Coordinator, you’ll be part of a compassionate, collaborative team that celebrates each child’s milestones and stands alongside families through every step of their journey. You’ll connect the dots between appointments, clinics, and care providers, ensuring that each experience is seamless, supportive, and centered on the child’s needs. From overseeing our inpatient vaccine program to providing hands-on nursing care, your role will be rooted in teamwork, empathy, and the belief that every child deserves the best chance to grow, heal, and thrive.

What You'll Do

+ Attend and coordinate all aspects of children’s appointments. Facilitate physician communication pertaining to appointments both prior to and follow-up after. Facilitate coverage for appointments if not able to attend, both on the unit and for the appointment. Facilitate communication with the transportation department .

+ Facilitate communication with care team members regarding appointments and related care issues.

+ Ensure accurate and timely completion of pertinent documentation and orders relating to appointments.

+ Ensure prior authorizations are completed.

+ Oversee vaccine program for inpatient children and young adults. Provide back-up for Care Coordinator position when needed. Oversee all coverage and care coordination of clinics (Dental, Pulmonology).

What You'll Need

+ Current valid license as a Registered Nurse in Iowa

+ Five years nursing experience in the field of pediatrics and/or developmental disabilities.

+ Experience in care coordination and program facilitation preferred.

+ Maneuver within the physical work environment with some bending, stooping, reaching and light lifting.

+ Documentation of current BLS certification

+ Ability to communicate effectively in reading, writing, and speaking the English language
