    JOB DESCRIPTION

    DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE** **CLASS** **_:_

    The work involves assisting in coordinating the resources of the college and community to meet identified professional development and technical training needs for the Workforce Development department of Erie Community College. The incumbent coordinates activities involved with the implementation of contracted training programs. The work is performed under the supervision of the Dean of Continuing Education. Supervision is exercised over administrators and other clerical employees. Does related work as required.

    TYPICAL WORK** **ACTIVITIES** **_:_

    + Secures cash revenues, grant and contract funding for an array of businesses, manufacturing firms, County and public services organizations in the form of professional and technical development training programs;

    + Develops budgets for grants and course offerings;

    + Assists with curriculum development;

    + Develops long and short term needs assessments;

    + Maintains current status on all active clientele;

    + Does on-site client visits;

    + Schedules of site/facilities;

    + Plans, organizes and manages seminar/workshop programs;

    + Develops weekly and monthly activity reports;

    + Performs client advisement (Technical and Administrative);

    + Maintains relationships with other educational institutions, County and State agencies;

    + Performs course evaluation follow up;

    + Prepares performance indicator reports, data and projects as designated by the Dean using current software and technology

    + Prepares department marketing articles, photographs, etc.;

    + Attends seminars, conferences and workshops sponsored by education, government and business;

    + Develops partnerships with WNY entities;

    + Available to serve on local boards related to job functions;

    + Supervises department during absence of Director;

    + Performs routine supervision of clerical staff;

    + Assists in planning and implementation of department programs/policy;

    + Assists in overall supervision of training programs;

    + Interviews and selection of instructors/resources;

    + Assists in activities to support other Workforce Development divisions;

    + Does follow up with instructors and clientele;

    + Does related work as required by Dean.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND** **ABILITIES** **_:_

    Candidates must be able to demonstrate awareness and sensitivity towards promoting an inclusive and diverse learning environment. Good knowledge of the techniques and procedures necessary to effectively present and coordinate corporate training programs; good knowledge of community college functions; ability to motivate and work effectively with others; good judgment; initiative; physically capable of performing the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

    MINIMUM** **QUALIFICATIONS:

    Graduation from a regionally accredited four (4) year college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related academic discipline and three (3) years management experience including experience in corporate training.
