What We Need:

The Property & Sales/Use Tax Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of indirect tax compliance, strategy and audit defense, with a focus on sales and use tax, property tax, and other transaction-based taxes. This role ensures timely and accurate tax filings, supports audits, and partners with internal teams to maintain compliance and optimize tax processes.

What You'll Do:

+ Support the business and contribute to the implementation of tax planning strategies, which maximize savings on a defensible basis.

+ Conduct tax research.

+ Actively participate in the review of proposed transactions to properly advise management of tax consequences.

+ Support the indirect tax integration of business acquisitions, dispositions and restructurings.

+ Provide support to the US sales tax process, as well as other indirect taxes and business taxes as needed.

+ Provide technical tax advice and planning services to a portfolio of projects.

+ Build strong working relationships with our internal project teams, developing your understanding of their unique needs and requirements.

+ Develop your own knowledge, maintaining your status as a trusted advisor by monitoring emerging trends, technologies and practices.

+ Tax Audits and Controversies – Evaluate and respond to requests for information from government tax authorities and participate in developing strategies to successfully defend tax filing positions.

+ Support the coordination and implementation of audit strategies.

+ Stay abreast of legal developments and industry positions to accurately evaluate options and responses to requests for information.

What You'll Need:

+ Minimum of 5-7 years of multistate real and personal property and sales/use tax compliance and audit experience

+ Certified Member of the Institute (CMI) designation or CPA preferred

+ Bachelor’s degree with business focus (Accounting, Finance, Bus. Admin.)

+ Knowledge of PTMS software preferred

+ Knowledge of Vertex sales tax compliance software preferred

+ Knowledge of Workday G/L strongly preferred

+ Excellent managerial and organizational skills

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
