    Job Title: Medical Assistant SeniorDepartment: Cardiology Location: Brighton Hours Per Week: 40 HoursSchedule: M - F 8:30AM - 5PMSign-On Bonus: $0SUMMARY:While performing in the role of medical assistant, provides knowledge, expertise and guidance to the healthcare team. In a patient-centered manner, assists with providing clinical and clerical support to medical providers, in collaboration with nursing and medical support staff, in a medical office setting.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Demonstrates advanced proficiency in clinical workflows by applying mastery of medical assistant skills, providing oversight and training to less experienced staff, and contributing to complex patient care scenarios. Serves as a key resource in resolving challenging clinical issues and supports regulatory readiness and quality initiatives.

    + Executes comprehensive clinical duties, including pre-visit planning (PVP), gap closure outreach, and accurate documentation of vital signs, patient history, and screenings. Performs EKGs, assists with procedures, conducts POCT and phlebotomy, and manages medication reconciliation and pending orders.

    + Supports provider and nursing staff during patient care by collecting and preparing specimens, assisting with clinical procedures, providing patient education, and ensuring the maintenance and readiness of clinical equipment, supplies, and exam rooms.

    + Coordinates various administrative and non-clinical functions, such as medical record abstraction, statistical data compilation for quality improvement, and submission of prior authorization requests and patient forms.

    + Manages front-desk operations, including appointment scheduling, insurance verification, patient check-in/check-out, referral processing, and payment collection. Supports efficient patient flow and communication within the practice.

    + Facilitates patient engagement and access to care by providing MyCare education and enrollment support, preparing and mailing provider communications, and escorting patients to ancillary departments (e.g., lab and radiology).

    + Contributes to overall practice efficiency through supply management, preparation of provider materials (e.g., ADHD packets), and completion of various support tasks as assigned.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    + Minimum of 6 months of Medical Assistant experience

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    + Strong customer service, computer, and communication skills highly desired.

    + Associates degree preferred.For Ambulatory Employment:

    + Experience in pre-hospital care activities or acute/critical care experience preferred.

    + Medical Assistant Certification preferred.For Elder ONE Employment:

     

    One year experience with frail, elderly population preferred

    EDUCATION:

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

    $17.75 - $20.00

    The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
