    Delaware North Parks and Resorts is hiring a full-time Maintenance Technician with Painting experience to join our team at the Kennedy Space Center in Merritt Island, Florida. As a Maintenance Technician Painter, you will be responsible for performing all facets of facility maintenance installation, replacement, repairs and preventative maintenance on buildings, equipment and systems. Along with utilizing your painting abilities for special projects, you may work on varying coating applications.     $25.43 - $44.55 / hour

    What will you do?

     

    + Perform arange of installation, preventive, and repair maintenance, including inspections and cleaning.

    + Complete a range of electrical, mechanical, and electronic checks, repairs, and installations.

    + Replace and paint floors, ceilings, ceiling tiles, doors, drywall, and similar items.

    + Secure loose molding, base, trim and check proper mechanical operation of doors and similar units.

    + Select premixed paints or color matches,and mix required portions of pigmentand oil.

    + Smooth surfaces, remove old paint, and protect surfaces during painting.

    + Drive a company vehicle around the property to work areas.

    More about you

    + Must be at least 21 years old to apply.

    + High school diploma or GED, completion of apprenticeship or technical school is preferred.

    + Minimum of 5years of verifiable professional paint experience.

    + Familiar with computerized maintenance management system to enter working hours and notes.

    + Valid Florida driver’s license and reliable transportation.

    + Ability to obtain and maintain a NASA badge.

    Physical requirements

    + Ability to wear appropriate safety PPE, such as fall protection, respirator, hearing protection, safety glasses, face shield or goggles.

    + Exposure to heat, dirt, dust, noise, fumes, wetness, paint, and solvents.

    + Ability to work on ladders, scaffolds, or high lift.

    + Ability to read and interpret codes and blueprints.

    + Ability to lift, carry or manipulate equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
