    Description

    Job Title:AIP Clinical Supervisor

     

    AIP Overview:The Domestic Violence Abuse Intervention program provides services to individuals who commit domestic violence with the goal of reducing violent behaviors, promoting survivor safety, and increasing accountability for program participants. Core activities include: Ongoing assessment, treatment planning, group services, individual services, convening a Multi-disciplinary Treatment Team (MTT), discharge planning, and post-discharge follow-ups.

     

    Job Summary:Clinical Supervisors will be responsible for reviewing and co-signing all assessments performed by the clinical staff and providing one-on-one and group supervision to staff. They will employ supervision methods aimed at assessing and developing staff competencies and utilize motivational interviewing skills in supervision with staff. Clinical Supervisors are also responsible for ensuring the program is implemented to fidelity.

    Job Responsibilities:

    + Program Implementation

    + Review and co-sign all assessments performed by the clinical staff.

    + Ensures program is implemented to fidelity through observation, review of case information, etc.

    + Conducts assessments, completed treatments plans and reviews, and facilitates group and individual sessions, as needed.

    Supervision:

    + Provide one-on-one and group clinical supervision to staff weekly.

    + Employ supervision methods aimed at assessing and developing staff competencies.

    + Utilize motivational interviewing skills in supervision with staff.

    Development of Professional Self:

    + Appropriately utilizes Supervision to discuss staff’s professional strengths and areas of growth in non-defensive manner

    + Supports staff in identifying appropriate growth opportunities and short- and long-term professional goals. Shares current research, literature, and best practices in management and treatment of adults who have committed domestic violence offenses with staff.

    + Follows professional ethics consistent with professional degree or license and seeks consultation as appropriate to adequately address diverse client needs

    + Demonstrates self-awareness by maintaining professional boundaries and managing transference

    Additional Functions:

    + Exhibits professional communication skills with clients, MTT members, court systems and other stakeholders.

    + Participate in peer consultation with other DCF-contracted consultant and staff from other AIPs on regular basis as dictated by DCF.

    + Teams with DCF on program development, implementation, and evaluation activities.

    + And additional duties, as assigned.

     

    Education:Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in social work, counseling or other related area.

     

    License:Hold professional mental health counseling license (LAC/LPC/LSW/LCSW).

    Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    + Organizational skills with the ability to manage supervision of numerous staff simultaneously.

    + Outstanding human relations skills and the ability to function autonomously and in a team environment.

    + Effective oral and written communication skills.

    + Effective problem-solving skills, including the identification and communication of problems and/or issues with appropriate team and management staff.

    + Exceptional group facilitation and individual clinical skills.

    + Knowledge of DV dynamics, Power and Control, mental health competencies and substance use/abuse competencies.

    + Knowledge of victimization.

    + Experience working with diverse, underserved or culturally specific populations (i.e. immigrant, female, LGBTQ+).

    + Awareness of survivor and public safety issues and considerations.

    + Knowledge of resources and/or services in the community for the target population
