• About the Role
We’re looking for a dedicated Endoscopy Technician to join our team and help us continue delivering the level of care our patients and families deserve. In this role, you’ll be a vital part of our clinical team, ensuring excellent service, collaboration, and patient outcomes in a fast-paced healthcare environment. In this position, you'll be responsible for providing support in the preparation, procedure and patient care process in the Endoscopy Unit. The position will circulate through the procedure area under the direction of the Registered Nurse. The position also has responsibility for maintaining the inventory of specialty instruments.
• What You’ll Do
+ Procedure Support: Greet patients and instructs them on pre-procedure steps. Conduct Point of Care testing, as needed under the direction of the RN, and check vital signs. Circulate under the supervision of the Registered Nurse to increase flow and turnover. Support the Registered Nurse in the room he/she is assigned. Anticipate the needs of the procedure and performs duties in an independent manner with RN supervision.
+ Room Turnover: Set up/turn down procedure rooms between endoscopy procedures, as well as assist in the discharge area/patient transport turnover. Facilitate flow of patients.
+ Equipment Management: Assist with gathering of equipment and setting up for the day. Demonstrate knowledge of and appropriately handle all the endoscopy equipment (including, but not limited to, scopes and all GI instruments). Stay current with basic knowledge of endoscopic procedures.
+ Inventory Management: Responsible for ensuring an adequate supply of inventory in accordance to established PAR levels. This includes restocking the procedure rooms, prep and post areas with needed supplies.
+ Documentation Support: Assist in ensuring an effective flow of documentation, ordering forms, lists, materials and filing as required.
+ Specimen Handling: Demonstrate knowledge of the proper handling of all endoscopy specimens, including labeling, under the supervision of RN. Transports end-of-day specimen.
+ Use hospital systems and tools to document care and support operations
+ Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and support patient and staff satisfaction
+ Serve as a positive, professional representative of our hospital and community
• What You Bring
+ High school degree or GED and a BLS Certification required
+ Prior endoscopy experience or hospital-related experience preferred
+ SGNA certification preferred
+ Strong communication and teamwork skills
+ Commitment to providing patient-first, high-quality service
