    POSITION DETAILS

    Reporting to the Associate Director of Undergraduate Admissions and Recruitment, the Admissions Advisor coordinates and contributes to student recruiting activities.

    GENERAL DUTIES

    - Conducts open house sessions and orientations to ensure applicants are fully informed of requirements and processes

     

    - Assists in direct recruiting at high schools, community outreach events, and other appropriate locations

     

    - Provides general information on programs and services in person or by telephone, email, or letter

     

    - Maintains current information about College programs and degree requirements

     

    - Performs related duties as assigned

    PRIMARY DUTIES

    - Serve as a primary point of contact for prospective undergraduate and graduate students, offering guidance on admissions requirements, academic programs, and application procedures.

     

    - Plan and participate in recruitment events, information sessions, school visits, and virtual webinars to increase awareness of Lehman College offerings.

     

    - Establish partnerships with companies, industries, institutions, high schools, community colleges and community based organizations.

     

    - Collaborate with admissions staff, academic and enrollment departments, and other support offices to develop and refine recruitment strategies.

     

    - Stay current with Lehman and CUNY admissions policies and ensure all practices are compliant.

     

    - Support application processing workflows including document verification and preliminary reviews.

     

    - Guide students on next steps after admission, including financial aid options, advisement, orientation, and registration.

     

    - Assist with enrollment data tracking and analysis to inform outreach efforts and improve processes.

     

    - Communicate with departmental faculty to market their programs to prospective students.

     

    - Other duties as assigned by the Associate Director of Recruitment.

     

    *Hybrid: 70% In-Person

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Bachelor’s degree required.

     

    - Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in higher education, student affairs, or a related field preferred.

     

    - At least two years of experience in admissions or student services within higher education.

     

    - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to engage with diverse populations.

     

    - Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

     

    - Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

     

    - Knowledge of college admissions trends, policies, and practices.

     

    - Knowledge of the Lehman College and CUNY admission and academic requirements and policies.

     

    - Familiarity with territory management, recruitment and relationship building with internal and external stakeholders.

     

    - Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends.

    COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

    $61,020, salary commensurate with education and experience.
