    About the Senior Controls Automation Technician Role

Colonial Pipeline is seeking a Senior Controls Automation Technician to help ensure the reliability and functionality of our control systems across the pipeline network.     As a Senior Controls Automation Technician, you’ll be a subject matter expert supporting the design, implementation, and testing of control systems.     What You Get to Do:

    + Write and test complex PLC logic and HMI applications for new and existing equipment.

    + Ensure seamless communication between system devices, PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems.

    + Troubleshoot and maintain electrical and instrumentation equipment.

    + Provide technical consultation on automation projects and upgrades.

    + Train and support field technicians and junior Controls Automation staff.

    What You Bring to the Table:

    + High School Diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) from an accredited educational institution, including completed technical degree/certification in a related field of study from an accredited educational institution.

    + Ideally, 3+ years of automation/controls experience, and 5+ years of oil/gas equipment maintenance.

    + Preferred: Associate’s degree in Automation, Engineering or related field, 10+ years supporting industrial automation, and experience with systems like Allen Bradley PLCs, iFIX HMIs, TAS conversions, and Butane Blending Systems.

    + Travel up to 40%, and up to 70% during peak periods, and emergency response support as needed.

    + Excellent communication, decision-making, and organizational skills.

    + Commitment to consistently adhere to policies and procedures and be a positive example for others by demonstrating the Company’s core values of Respect, Accountability, Innovation, Safety, and Excellence in completing work assignments.
