Responsibilities You will develop solutions to support mitigation and resolution of information technology (IT) customer complaints on computer issues. You will diagnose computer and network issues for customer information technology (IT) reported incidents. You will maintain network workstations and peripherals through the installation, testing, and configuration of equipment. You will troubleshoot application software components to determine compatibility with systems and system interfaces. You will manage operating systems patches, upgrades, and releases to improve existing systems. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Developing and interpreting policies, procedures, and strategic governing the planning and delivery of services throughout the command; 2) Providing expert technical advice, guidance, and recommendations to management and other technical specialist on critical IT issues; 3) Applying new development to previously unsolvable problems; and 4) Making decisions or recommendations that influence agency IT policies or programs. Your experience must reflect skills in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving. Education Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. This announcement uses the Defense Industrial Base, Major Range and Test Facilities direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service. This position has been designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position in specialty area 45 and as a condition of employment incumbents of this position are required to comply with the DON Cyber IT/CSWF Program requirements of SECNAV M-5239.2, which include: 1. Earn and maintain appropriate credentials from the Cyber IT/CSWF Qualification Matrix (described in SECNAV M-5239.2) associated with the specialty area and level commensurate with the scope of major assigned duties for the position to which you are assigned, and; 2. Participate in a continuous learning program as described in SECNAVINST 1543.2. A minimum of 40 hours of Cyber IT/CSWF related continuous learning annually documented in a current individual development plan (IDP) signed by both the employee and supervisor WORK ENVIROMENT : Work area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated. May be required to conduct/participate in site surveys outdoors, closed quarters, etc. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: May require carrying papers, books, drive vehicle, transporting computer/communications equipment; bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs), crawling to install, troubleshoot equipment, cabling, etc. Several vacancies may be filled.
