The franchisee is a separate company and a separate employer from Marriott International, Inc. The franchisee solely controls all aspects of the hotel’s employment policies and practices, including hiring, firing, discipline, staffing, compensation, benefits, and all other terms and conditions of employment.     Evening Bar Manager

     

    The Evening Bar Manager is the driving force behind the bar's service culture and luxury guest experience. You will oversee all daily operations, from staff management to ensuring every guest interaction is exceptional. This includes leading the team to maintain impeccable beverage control, adhere to all liquor laws, and create a sophisticated, engaging atmosphere. Working closely with senior management, you'll align bar operations with company policies and brand standards to meet and exceed financial goals. A key part of your role is to develop and execute business plans, manage inventory, and ensure all bar activities reflect our commitment to excellence.

     

    In this position, you will directly supervise your bar team and set the standard for a shared commitment to the company's goals, embodying them through your work ethic and integrity. Your leadership will unite the team in a common mission to deliver a top-tier guest experience. By collaborating with management across the hotel, you will ensure seamless operations and consistently impress guests with timely, high-quality service delivered in a pleasant and friendly manner.

     

    The schedule for this position is heavily concentrated on Evenings and Weekends, when the bar is at it’s busiest, but requires flexibility to accommodate business needs.

    Essential Functions

    Guest Satisfaction

     

    Manage all bar services to ensure they meet policies, procedures, and brand standards.

     

    Create staff schedules that provide adequate coverage while staying within the department budget.

     

    Train, motivate, and coach the bar team to provide excellent guest relations and service.

     

    Ensure the team follows all service standards, including proper uniform, name tags, and guest greetings.

     

    Resolve guest complaints quickly and professionally to maintain satisfaction.

     

    Use service scores and feedback to identify areas for improvement and implement changes.

     

    Stay knowledgeable about hotel facilities, services, and local attractions to assist guests as needed.

     

    Human Resources

     

    Recruit, hire, train, coach, and discipline staff.

     

    Clearly communicate performance standards and expectations to all team members.

     

    Administer and ensure all required training, including alcohol awareness, safety, and other compliance-related programs, is completed.

     

    Prepare and conduct timely performance reviews in accordance with company guidelines.

     

    Maintain a work environment that is free from harassment and promotes the hotel as an employer of choice.

     

    Sales and Profitability

     

    Recommend new and improved drink menus and service methods to continually improve revenue and profit margins.

     

    Contribute to and recommend the budget, capital expenditures, inventory controls, and business plans.

     

    Manage operations to stay within approved plans and objectives, developing action steps to correct any issues with expenses.

     

    Manage beverage costs to ensure they are within budgeted guidelines.

     

    Ensure accurate guest bills, payments, and daily reconciliations, following all policies and procedures.

     

    Monitor vendors, products, and invoices to ensure the procurement of top-quality products at competitive prices.

     

    Life Safety and Risk Management

     

    Assist the General Manager with hotel life safety, including enforcing beverage control procedures and liquor law compliance.

     

    Promote an accident prevention program to minimize liabilities and related expenses.

     

    Manage staff compliance with all safety, security, and emergency policies and procedures.

     

    Notify senior management of any potential liability and recommend a course of action to prevent issues.

     

    Asset Management

     

    Conduct daily walks of the bar to identify issues and connect with staff.

     

    Ensure team members are properly trained in cash handling and credit card procedures.

     

    Maintain adequate controls for the protection of the hotel's financial assets.

     

    Manage and control inventory as appropriate.

     

    Skills and Abilities

     

    Possess a strong knowledge of beverage service, hospitality, business, and basic accounting principles.

     

    Demonstrate organizational skills that result in accurate, timely, and thorough work.

     

    Ability to effectively manage daily operations and resolve problems efficiently.

     

    Ability to appropriately interview, hire, schedule, train, and manage staff performance.

     

    Strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills.

     

    Exhibit professional leadership while handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

     

    Ability to operate a computer, Toast POS system, and other office equipment.

     

    Must comply with all legal requirements for employment within the jurisdiction.

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience

     

    High school education plus additional schooling in culinary arts, hotel/restaurant management, or a related field.

     

    Three or more years of related experience.

     

    Alcohol awareness certification and familiarity with hospitality industry practices are preferred.

     

    Working Conditions & Physical Effort

     

    Work is typically performed in a bar environment. While on duty, you will need to speak, listen, complete documents, and operate equipment such as a POS system, telephone, and computer. The job requires extended periods of standing and/or walking, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, and lifting up to 40 pounds. Close vision is required to perform job duties.

     

    The salary for this position is $70,000.
