TheDepartment of Athletics and Recreation (https://bardathletics.com/) at Bard College is seeking an Assistant Athletic Trainer to assist the Director of Sport Performance and Head Athletic Trainer and the Director of Athletics on all matters related to the position.
Areas of responsibility include:
+ Serves as the primary athletic trainer for some teams, covering practices and competitions, and assists other teams and individual student athletes as needed
+ Assists the Heath Athletic Trainer and Associate Head Athletic Trainer in coordination of all aspects of injury prevention, evaluation, rehabilitation of student athletes
+ Completes necessary documentation including (but not limited to) injury reports, daily check in log, student athlete travel and insurance records. Works with the College’s insurance administrator with claims and necessary paperwork related to injuries covered but the Bard College insurance plan
+ Assists in communication with coaches, physicians, and other medical professionals
+ Relates necessary sports medicine information to visiting institutions and athletic training staff
+ Attends periodic staff meetings and select Bard College Student Services meetings
+ Must maintain a working knowledge of up to date information, research, and changes in the athletic training field through attendance at and participation in professional development and continuing education opportunities
+ Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
+ A Bachelor's degree from an accredited athletic training program is required; a Master's degree in a related field is preferred
+ NATA-BOC certification, New York State license and CPR/AED and First Aid certifications are required. CSCS, PES, CES, Graston, ART, EMT certifications are preferred
+ Excellent communication skills are necessary
+ Knowledge of computer statistical software and internet skills required
+ Flexible work schedule is required, to include evenings and weekends and occasional travel with teams
+ Must have interest in supporting an environment in which students of all experience and ability levels and from diverse backgrounds are supported and encouraged

Compensation: $55,000-$62,000; full-time, 10-month position
This salary range reflects the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for the position at the time of the job posting. Salary decisions are dependent on several factors including but not limited to market and organizational considerations, experience, and qualifications of a selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
