    Job Description:

    JOB SUMMARY

    The Medical Assistant Apprentice works under the direction of a Medical Assistant mentor for on-the-job training to provide basic clinical, clerical, and technical support to assist providers in planning for patients’ care, comfort, and safety. The Medical Assistant - Apprentice performs in a manner consistent with Marshfield Clinic Health System’s (MCHS) mission, policies, and initiatives

     

    while maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION

    **Minimum Required:** Enrollment in ICATAP MA Apprenticeship Program

    **Preferred/Optional:** Completion of a Medical Terminology course. Graduate of a vocational technical Health Unit Coordinator Program, Medical Office Specialist, or Medical Secretary.

    EXPERIENCE

    **Minimum Required:** Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Keyboard, computer, and telephone proficiency.

    **Preferred/Optional:** Six months’ previous experience with MCHS or related entity.

    CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES

    _The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position._

     

    **Minimum Required:** Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire.

     

    Preferred/Optional:** **Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
