    DUTIES:

    + Provide academic and instructional support to individual or small groups of students using the student’s primary language.

    + Assist the teacher in the preparation of instructional materials as needed; including maintaining appropriate records of student progress.

    + Provide assistance with related instructional work and available resources.

    + Assist limited English-speaking students in the development of English language, and reinforce concepts taught by teacher using the students’ primary language

    + Translate for teachers, students, and parents on the phone, in parent conferences, etc.

     

    SALARY:$15.50 – $19.63 per hour, plus full-time benefits per RHEA, Coalition Unit, Paraprofessionals Chapter QUALIFICATIONS:NYS Teacher or Teaching Assistant certificationrequired(or ability to obtain immediately upon appointment). Must be familiar with the cultural heritage of pupils of limited English proficiency.Must have good knowledge of English vocabulary, spelling, grammar and punctuation. Must be bi-literate proficient in English and Nepali.
