Summary:
Plans, organizes, and directs all operations of the Pharmacy Department including strategic planning, fiscal management, human resource management, and quality improvement. Responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulatory agencies. Coordinates the provision of optimal pharmaceutical care with available resources.

Description
1. Hires, fires, evaluates, coaches, counsels and trains Pharmacy staff. Manages professional and technical staff in their day-to-day responsibilities.
2. Develops quality improvement processes that include goals and performance targets.
3. Leads and supports ongoing activities that promote safe practices and a safe environment.
4. Prepares, justifies and administers departmental and program budgets.
5. Leads strategies to improve financial performance for assigned areas and hospital, including expenses, revenue and productivity.
6. Lead Pharmacy team to implement safe and efficient medication documentation, procurement and effective distribution process.
7. Act as advisor and resource on medication use process and medication safety.
8. Manage the safe and legal use of controlled substances by monitoring investigating and reporting potential diversion.
9. Work with Pharmacy IT to identify, prevent and eliminate safety issues in the pharmacy system as it impacts other AC systems.
10. Leads Pharmacy team in planning, implementing, analyzing, improving and maintaining systems, procedures and processes.
11. Pharmacist-In-Charge as designated by AR Board of Pharmacy
