    Description:

    _Position Purpose:_

    The Intervention Specialist will engage and assist Allegheny County Housing Authority High Rise residents by providing support, resources, and referrals to meet their needs in various areas such as food, clothing, housing, mental health, drug and alcohol, senior services, and medical treatment. Additionally, they will provide crisis intervention support and referrals as needed, organize monthly wellness activities for residents, and maintain an office located at the High-Rise Sites.

    _What You Will Do:_

    + **Crisis Intervention and Assessment:** Conduct thorough assessments of clients experiencing behavioral health crises, utilizing clinical expertise to determine the immediate needs and appropriate level of care.

    + **Individualized Care Planning:** Develop and implement personalized intervention plans that address the specific needs and circumstances of each client, ensuring a holistic and client-centered approach.

    + **Support and Counseling:** Provide direct support and counseling to clients, helping them to manage and overcome immediate crisis situations while building resilience and coping strategies for the future.

    + **Collaboration and Coordination:** Work closely with an interdisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, social workers, and case managers, to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive approach to client care.

    + **Community Resource Linkage:** Connect clients with community resources, support services, and follow-up care to promote ongoing recovery and stability.

    + **Crisis Prevention Education:** Offer education and training to clients, families, and community partners on crisis prevention and management strategies to enhance overall community mental health awareness.

    + **Documentation and Reporting:** Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all client interactions, assessments, and intervention plans in accordance with Pittsburgh Mercy’s policies and regulatory requirements.

    + **Continuous Professional Development:** Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in crisis intervention and behavioral health care.

    _Minimum Qualifications:_

    + Master’s Degree human services **_and_** one year of social service experience **OR** Bachelor’s Degree in human services **_and_** three years of social service experience

    + Act 33/34/73 clearances and pre-employment drug screen

    + Valid driver’s license and access to transportation
