Job Summary and Qualifications

Under the general direction of the Director of Facilities Management, the Painter’s duties include but are not limited to the maintenance and repairs of walls, doors, door frames, drywall repairs, painting and wall coverings. Performs routine maintenance tasks during wall preparations and paintings, such as ceiling tiles, flooring, laminate repairs, and light bulbs.

+ Demonstrates an understanding of patient rights, including those pertaining to confidentiality, informed decision-making, and privacy.

+ Is aware of resources available for ethical concerns and makes appropriate referrals.

+ Practices cost-efficiently.

+ Performs technical skills proficiently in accordance with established standards, as evidenced by annual validation processes.

+ Utilizes specialized knowledge and skill to perform job requirements.

+ Prepares materials needed in advance for scheduled jobs to prevent the return to the department or supplier for parts or tools.

+ Consistently demonstrates the ability to adapt to changes in the workload or assignments.

+ Demonstrates reliability in the conscientious and complete way work assignments are performed.

+ Maintains work area in a manner conductive to efficiency and safety; cleans and organizes department on own initiative.

+ Consistently demonstrates competence in the day-to-day scheduling of duties by completing all priority and related tasks on time with little additional assistance required from others.

+ Demonstrates reliability and make every attempt to consistently report to work on time at the start of the assigned shift.

+ When requested, is always willing to adjust my personal schedule to complete work load, prepare for an inspection or special project.

What qualifications you will need:

+ Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in painting, light carpentry and dry wall repair in hospital or building maintenance.
