Fauquier Health operates a full-service laboratory in conjunction with Pathfinder Diagnostics, Lab Corporation of America, Quest Diagnostics, and the American Red Cross. The laboratory provides consultation services in most areas of anatomic and clinical pathology, as well as comprehensive laboratory services to physician offices.

*How you’ll contribute *

A Laboratory Assistant who excels in this role:

* Works in both Inpatient and Outpatient Blood Draw areas, and Specimen Processing.

* Assists with receiving, identifying, accessioning, processing, and transporting specimens.

* Maintains venipuncture and dermal puncture competencies on all age groups.

* Performs accurate order entry and documentation on lab requisitions according to departmental and hospital policy.

*What we’re looking for** **-*

Applicants should have a High School diploma and

• 1 of the following certifications required within 18 months of hire: Phlebotomy Technician (PBT ASCP), Certified Medical Assistant, Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) or Technologist (MLT), or Virginia state license as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

• 6 months of full-time equivalent general phlebotomy of waived/moderate lab testing experience required.
