    The AbilIT Job Coach plays a vital role in empowering individuals with disabilities as they train for and transition into meaningful roles in IT.

     

    You’ll provide tailored support through every stage—from classroom learning to internships to job placements—helping participants build confidence, independence, and workplace success.

     

    What You’ll Do

     

    + Provide one-on-one coaching to AbilIT participants to support soft skill development, executive functioning, and workplace readiness.

    + Conduct outreach calls to prospective employers to build partnerships and create IT placement opportunities for participants, with an expectation of making 10–20 calls per hour to expand the employer network.

    + Promote and market IT-trained participants to potential employers, highlighting their skills and readiness to meet workforce needs.

    + Offer real-time, on-site, and virtual job coaching during internships, job trials, or onboarding with new employers.

    + Support participants in setting goals, overcoming workplace challenges, and understanding employer expectations.

    + Collaborate with instructors, trainers, employers, and family/support teams to create a well-rounded support system.

    + Track progress, capture feedback, and document milestones in a case management system.

    + Advocate for needed accommodations, communication preferences, or accessibility supports.

    + Participate in job development activities such as mock interviews and resume coaching when needed.

     

    What You Bring

     

    + Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree

    + Minimum of 1 year of experience supporting individuals with disabilities, helpful.

    + Knowledge of neurodiversity, autism, learning differences, and assistive technologies.

    + Familiarity with IT workplace expectations (a plus).

    + Excellent communication, patience, organizational, and coaching skills.

    + Proficiency with digital learning platforms, email, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace.
