Overview
This position is within the LG&E and KU Generation Fleet Electrical Engineering department. Position responsibilities include electrical engineering support for power generation plants. Electrical engineer will complete field inspections, perform engineering studies, and execute projects to optimize plant infrastructure safety and reliability. Work is conducted in the office and power plant environments.
This position is located in Louisville, KY.
Position will be filled according to qualification and experience: Engineer I, II, III or Principal.
Responsibilities
+ Identifies opportunities for improvement and/or suggests improved methods.
+ Gathers, correlates, and analyses specific data using established procedures. Collection and review of data via electronic records research and field collection of data.
+ Performs detailed and/or routine engineering assignments involving established calculations, tests, and analysis. Analysis using multiple vendor software analysis tools.
+ Performs a variety of routine tasks to become familiar with the engineering methods, practices, and programs of the company.
+ Supports operating and maintenance functions with problem identification, engineering analysis, and problem resolution activities.
+ Prepares and presents reports giving conclusions of job related engineering activities.
+ Assists other engineers with large projects, as needed.
+ Assists with the development of goals, objectives, budgets, programs, and procedures.
+ Plans and controls all activities so as to provide an accident-free work place in accordance with the companies safety procedures and programs.
+ Conducts work activities with regard to environmental rules and regulations.
+ Regularly reviews assignments to assure optimum efficiency and cost effectiveness.
+ Occasionally directs the activities of co-ops, supervisors, and others as they perform various activities.
+ Performs other duties as directed by management.
Qualifications
Education/Experience/Qualifications
ABET Accredited Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to analyze and solve engineering problems from a business perspective.
