The Transport Escort works under the direction of the Transport/Escort Supervisor. Upon request responsible for transporting patients, specimens, equipment, blood products, pharmacy items, etc. throughout Holzer Health System. These requests consist of scheduled or emergency situations. Upon request assists the Security Department or single handling of patients to/from helicopter pad depending on the patient’s condition. These patients may be leaving the Holzer System, entering the Holzer System or just being transferred from ambulance to helicopter. EMR (electronic medical record) documentation is required on all patients that are assigned as an in-patient. When needed provides coverage, for the Mailroom, Courier and Imaging Departments.

• Performs Housekeeping duties in-between Transport runs or when assigned.

• Performs all manner of Housekeeping related duties and assignments inside patient and non-patient areas of the Holzer System.

Education, Work Experience and Licensure:

+ High school graduate or equivalent

+ On the job training

+ Valid driving licenses with a good driving record

+ C.P.R. certification and validated competency in the proper lifting/transferring of patients is required within the 90 day introductory period.

+ Departmental orientations and special training with documented competency validation are job requirements to work in the department.

+ Must attend the System safe driving class when offered and have a valid driving license with a good driving record.

+ May be required to pass a Department of Transportation physical.
