Description We are looking for an experienced Tax Manager to join our team on a contract basis in Arvada, Colorado. The ideal candidate will manage complex sales tax audits, reconcile historical tax returns, and provide expertise in compliance across multiple systems. This role requires someone with strong attention to detail, capable of handling overflow tasks and contributing to the team’s overall success.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and conduct comprehensive sales tax audits, including researching historical periods and recreating tax returns.

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual tax filings with precision and accuracy.

• Reconcile accounts, ledgers, and reports to ensure compliance and completeness.

• Respond promptly to internal and external inquiries regarding sales tax matters.

• Research and analyze state-specific sales and use tax laws to ensure proper classification of taxable and exempt transactions.

• Maintain accurate tax exemption files and load new exemptions into relevant systems.

• Assist in sales and use tax audits by providing necessary documentation and analysis.

• Support accounting functions, including accounts receivable and invoicing processes.

• Document workflows and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance.

• Collaborate effectively with management and team members to meet deadlines and achieve business goals. Requirements • Proven experience with annual income tax provisions and corporate tax returns.

• Proficiency in tax software such as CCH ProSystem Fx and CCH Sales Tax.

• Expertise in preparing monthly sales tax returns and compliance.

• Strong understanding of entity formation and tax regulations.

• Ability to manage multiple systems and reconcile historical tax data.

• Excellent communication skills for addressing inquiries and collaborating with teams.

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail in record-keeping and reporting.

• Availability to work outside regular business hours when necessary to support other branches.
