    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Education Coordinator will support early childhood education including curriculum, assessment, screening, child observation, and lesson planning. They will support the professional development implementation strategy and continuous quality improvement. The Education Coordinator will demonstrate a commitment to best practices in Head Start Performance Standards and Great Start Readiness Program and curriculum requirements with an ability to support innovation.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    + Bachelor's degree with a major in early childhood education, social work or a related field

    + Master's degree in a related field is preferred

    + Minimum three years of experience including experience with early childhood education, curriculum planning, assessments, and lesson planning

    + Evidence of planning and execution of Professional Development for adult learners

    + CLASS experience preferred

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Support continuous quality improvement within Early Childhood Education (ECE) including curriculum, assessment, child observations, and lesson planning.

    + Assist in the analysis of child assessment data to support program grant goals, professional development opportunities, and information sharing to stakeholders.

    + Support in the planning of professional development for staff, including working in conjunction with Value Acceleration to develop processes and procedures for ensuring professional development requirements are met.

    + Collaborate with evaluation and program leadership to evaluate program effectiveness and develop strategies for sustainability and improvement.

    + Utilize data and other information to support continuous quality improvement and plan professional development.

    + Support the Education Manager to implement the professional development strategy .

    + Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures and provide recommendations to management related to continuous improvement, best practices, process improvement.

    + Anticipate trends for professional development and make recommendations to the Education Manager.

    + Quarterly, attends Center Parent Meetings to provide overview of Educational Services and Curriculum information.

    + Serves and supports relationship(s) with LEA(s) within the scope of education and school readiness.

    LICENSING AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

    + Must have a valid State of Michigan driver’s license

    + Must be COVID-19 vaccinated, or partially, with the ability to complete within 30-days of employment. Circumstances preventing vaccination, and corresponding accommodations will be reviewed and considered.
