Description of Job
This is a flexible, short-term contract position. The contract length is expected to be between three and six months, with a minimum of 10 hours of work per week.
This role seeks an individual with expert-level proficiency in both ADA compliance and Microsoft Word , driven by a meticulous approach to document perfection. The Document Accessibility Coordinator will play a critical role in ensuring all public-facing documents meet the highest standards of accessibility.
This position involves making real estate templates and various other documents fully ADA compliant within Microsoft Word. The specialist will work with existing documents that are largely ADA compliant, applying a keen eye to refine them to perfection. The role demands a detail-oriented professional who thrives on ensuring consistency and accuracy across a large volume of documents.
+ Real Estate Template Transformation: Meticulously modify existing real estate templates to achieve full ADA compliance within Microsoft Word with standards set by DNR and CPW .
+ Document Refinement: Review and "polish" a large library of Microsoft Word documents that are already largely ADA compliant, making final adjustments to ensure complete accessibility.
+ Global Change Implementation: Apply specific, pre-determined changes across numerous documents, ensuring consistency and accuracy throughout the entire document library. This task requires exceptional attention to detail.
+ Public-Facing Document Conversion: Convert various other public-facing documents into fully ADA-compliant Microsoft Word formats.
+ Compliance Excellence: Act as a subject matter expert in ADA compliance best practices for Microsoft Word, ensuring all documents meet current accessibility standards.
Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights
The ideal candidate will have the following:
+ ADA Compliance Expertise: Deep understanding of ADA guidelines and best practices for digital content, specifically as they apply to Microsoft Word documents.
+ Microsoft Word Proficiency: Highly proficient in all aspects of Microsoft Word, including advanced features relevant to document accessibility (e.g., heading structures, alt text, tables, color contrast, reading order, etc.).
+ Detail-Oriented & Meticulous: Possesses an exceptional eye for detail and enjoys the process of perfecting documents and ensuring absolute accuracy.
+ Patience & Persistence: Comfortable with repetitive tasks and able to maintain focus and accuracy when applying consistent changes across numerous documents.
+ Independent & Proactive: Able to manage a workload effectively and take initiative to identify and resolve accessibility issues.
+ Compensation & Flexibility: The compensation for this role will be commensurate with the successful candidate's experience and qualifications. We offer a flexible work schedule, with a minimum commitment of 10 hours per week, and are open to accommodating the needs of the ideal candidate to ensure the job responsibilities are met effectively. We expect this job will take anywhere between 2 to 4 months if you choose to work up to 40 hours per week.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
+ Must be willing and able to work 10 hours per week at a minimum.
+ Proven familiarity in ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliance standards and guidelines for digital documents.
+ Demonstrated advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, including:
+ Creating and modifying document structures (headings, lists).
+ Inserting and editing alt text for images and objects.
+ Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy.
+ Ability to perform repetitive tasks with precision and maintain high-quality output.
+ Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple documents and tasks efficiently.
+ Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
