You can be part of the difference thatEast Housemakes each day with individuals working through substance addiction and mental health recovery.East Househelps thousands of clients and their families that are seeking residential and career support while in their recovery process both in residential programs and throughout the community. As aCareer Counseloryou will be responsible for assessing and teaching vocational skills while coaching and motivate individuals to achieve their goals. You will play an essential role as aCareer Counselor in facilitating groups to assist individuals in career exploration, college planning, locating employment and integrating career objectives with their current mental health and substance recovery programs. TheCareer Counseloris the liaison between the individual and coordinated services such as assisted volunteer opportunities, visiting employer sites and touring community skills training and education programs.

Career Counselor Requirements:AnEast House Career Counseloris required to have a minimum of a Bachelors’ degree in a human services related field with a minimum of two years’ paid experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid NYS motor vehicle license, safe driving record and availability of a personal use vehicle for work.

Education & Experience

+ Requirements

+ MinimumBachelor’s degree in human service related field and two years’ paid human service experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Licensure & Certification

+ Required:

+ NYS motor vehicle license, safe driving record and availability of personal vehicle for work.

+ Preferred butnot required

+ Licensure or certification in human services

+ Qualified Mental Health Staff as defined by OMH Residential regulations required for work with OMH licensed programs.

$21.00-$21.50
