    Job Description

    Program and Policy Specialist – JCPH

     

    Make a difference in the health and wellbeing of Jackson County! As a Program and Policy Specialist, you’ll help design, implement, and evaluate health promotion programs, policies, and community initiatives that prevent disease and support healthier lives.

    What You’ll Do:

    + Develop and support health education, policy, and systems-change initiatives

    + Partner with schools, businesses, and community organizations to address health priorities

    + Research and apply evidence-based strategies for disease prevention and behavior change

    + Create educational materials and use media to share health information

    + Support grant writing, reporting, and community health assessments

    + Build strong partnerships to improve population health and advance equity

    Minimum Requirements:

    + Bachelor’s degree in public health, health promotion/education, or related field

    + 1–2 years related experience

    + Knowledge of public health core functions, program planning, and health education

    + Strong research, communication, and presentation skills

    + Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

    + CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)

    Preferred:

    + Master’s degree in public health or related field

    + Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES)

    + Experience with epidemiology, data analysis, and community organizing
