The University of Miami Health System at Doral has an exciting opportunity for an Executive Director, Nursing
The University of Miami Health System's state-of-the-art facility in Downtown Doral serves as a western hub for our distinguished regional network of ambulatory services. This 160,000 square foot expansion continues to bring world-class academic medicine, cutting-edge technology, and innovative treatment options to the rapidly growing Doral community. UHealth at Doral has services through the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, and the Desai Sethi Urology Institute, as well as specialties such as cardiology, endocrinology, otolaryngology, gastroenterology, dermatology, and more. It provides innovative, specialized medical services in the heart of the Doral community.
The Executive Director of Nursing Services is responsible and accountable for the oversight of all nursing departments within UHealth at Doral . In collaboration with senior administration, nursing and physician leadership, the Executive Director of Nursing Services is responsible for supporting the vision of UHealth at Doral and to promoting a nurturing and compassionate environment of personalized outpatient care.
Accountable for ensuring that each nursing department is efficiently run by the department director in regard to providing quality patient care, fiscal responsibility and consistency with the 5 to Thrive Pillars of the University Health System.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
Directs, oversees, and evaluates all nursing personnel and staff. Ensures that each nursing department is efficiently run in terms of quality patient care, financial responsibilities, adequate staffing, and accountability. Sets objectives and long-term goals for the Nursing Department. Evaluates nursing standards and the quality of care provided to the patients throughout the organization. Interprets policies and objectives of nursing service to staff and community groups. Recommends establishment or revisions of policies, and develops organizational structure and standards of performance to ensure legal compliance and high quality standards. Controls budgets and monitors expenditures. Ensures that nurses are current in competencies, assessments, licensures, certifications, and annual training. Collaborates with other departments and professionals to streamline operations and promote change. Reports results and maintains organizational transparency at appropriated forums and committees. Ensures internal control oversight and compliance with laws and regulations, safeguarding of assets, compliance with University policies and procedures, reliability of internal and external reporting, and efficiency and effectiveness of operations. Creates an effective control environment, conducts risk assessment, implements and monitors controls.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
Certification and Licensing:
Registered Nurse Licensing (RN)
Experience:
Minimum 7 years of relevant experience
Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:
+ Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships
+ Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form
+ Knowledge of business and management principles
+ Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.
+ Ability to lead, motivate, develop and train others.
