Overview:

St. Mary’s Healthcare is actively seeking Board Certified / Board Eligible Emergency Medicine Physicians to join our dedicated Emergency Department team in Amsterdam, NY. This full-time, hospital-employed role offers the opportunity to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a dynamic and collaborative environment with strong resources, state-of-the-art facilities, and a community that values your expertise.

Position Highlights:

+ Full-time, hospital-employed position

+ Flexible scheduling designed to support work-life balance

+ 20,000+ Annual Emergency Department visits

+ 24 hours of physician coverage daily (12-hour shifts)

+ 20 hours of APP coverage daily (NP/PA support)

+ Fully integrated inpatient/outpatient EMR: Meditech Expanse

Responsibilities:

+ Provide comprehensive evaluation, stabilization, and treatment of patients with acute medical, surgical, and traumatic conditions across all age groups

+ Perform emergency procedures such as intubation, central line placement, suturing, fracture reduction, and point-of-care ultrasound

+ Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, APPs, nurses, and specialists to ensure coordinated and effective care

+ Communicate clearly and empathetically with patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and follow-up care

+ Document all patient encounters accurately and in compliance with hospital standards and regulatory requirements

+ Participate in quality improvement initiatives and uphold evidence-based emergency medicine practices

+ Manage crisis situations, including codes and facility-wide emergencies, in a fast-paced environment

+ Engage in ongoing professional development and mentorship of students or residents as applicable

Qualifications:

Required Credentials - Board Certified/Board Eligible Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine Physician (with EM experience) licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the State of New York

Preferred Experience - ACLS, ATLS, and PALS certifications are preferred but not required

Education - MD or DO from an accredited medical school; completion of an accredited residency program

Skills - Strong diagnostic and procedural skills, excellent communication, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-based environment.

+ Competitive Hourly Rate: $240/day, $250/night (commensurate with experience).
