    The Armed Services YMCA of the USA (ASYMCA), headquartered in Woodbridge, VA, is a direct services nonprofit dedicated to the mission readiness and resilience of junior enlisted service members and their families, while helping them navigate the unique challenges of military life.

     

    The Operation Ride Home Coordinator, reporting to the Senior VP of Military Family Services, will support one of the organization’s core services called Operation Ride Home, an application-based travel assistance service that helps E1-E5 active duty and Reserve personnel, spouses and their dependent children aged 0-18 travel home for the holidays. The Operation Ride Home Coordinator will assist the Senior VP in various aspects including travel logistics, project management, communication with internal and external audiences, tracking and reporting, and other administrative functions.

     

    The Operation Ride Home Coordinator position will require excellent customer service, extreme attention to detail, strong proficiency in Excel spreadsheets, and ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.

     

    Compensation commensurate with experience:  $15-17/hourly

    Essential Job Functions :

    + Maintain a thorough working knowledge of Operation Ride Home to answer questions by applicants. Respond to emails and phone calls in a timely manner.

    + Provide an initial review of applications for completeness and accuracy. Communicate with applicants if missing information is needed and provide applicants with status updates.

    + Track daily the amount of airline tickets, airline miles and gift cards used and provide accurate reporting of remaining balances with approved travel agents and branches.

    + Utilize (if necessary learn) WordPress Gravity Forms to organize applications, update the application portal with application determination, and export data and provide usage reporting.

    + Book transportation, accommodations, and travel activities, and create itineraries for program participants, as needed.

    + Provide administrative support including scheduling meetings, creating training documents, and summarizing meeting information.

    + Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications :

     

    3+ years’ employment experience in a customer-facing role required with a minimum of two years in a professional administrative role. Bookkeeping, travel planning and logistics, and/or customer service experience highly preferred.

     

    Proficient in using computers, the Internet, email, Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word and Excel) and basic office equipment.

     

    Ability to learn new technology systems and platforms.

     

    Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    Possess problem solving skills and takes the initiative to address any issues that may arise.

     

    Comfortable with working on projects that may not have established processes and procedures.

    Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

    Able to perform sedentary work including working at a workstation and performing repetitive keyboarding activities.

     

    Able to operate general office equipment. Visual and hearing acuity necessary to operate equipment, use telecommunication, read fine print, and utilize a computer monitor throughout the course of a normal workday.

     

    Able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds. Some physical effort may be required.
