WOW Mobile Health Unit Driver

Summary:
Drives a 39ft, 102in wide custom mobile health unit called Wellness on Wheels (WOW bus) to and from scheduled community partner locations so that the mobile health team can deliver preventative screening programs and services. May also transport staff, equipment and supplies in a safe manner to prevent accidents and injuries. Shows the ability to perform daily vehicle inspections and recognize and report potential problems. Responsible for routine maintenance of the WOW bus. Assists mobile health team with outreach and engagement at scheduled community partner site locations. Possesses good interpersonal skills to work productively in a team environment. Respects and regards the confidentiality and dignity of all WOW bus community members, co-workers and those in authority to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment. Represents Baystate Health in the community by projecting a positive image and adhering to the BH operating principles.
Job Responsibilities:
**1)** Assists mobile health team with engaging community members and providing outreach of marketing materials at community partner sites. Passes out marketing materials to community members and builds relationships with community members.
**2)** Maintains the WOW bus in a clean operating order. Cleans the interior and exterior after use. Ensures fuel, oil, and other fluids are at appropriate levels. Ensures proper removal of human waste and maintaining of waste system.
**3)** Maintains the WOW bus in a safe and mechanically sound operating condition. Conducts pre-operation vehicle check according to a checklist. Recognizes potential mechanical or other problems during inspections and while operating and immediately reports problems to the supervisor.
**4)** Tracks mileage of the WOW bus according to preventive maintenance schedule. Alerts supervisor in time to schedule servicing and necessary vehicle repairs that does not conflict with the WOW bus program schedule. Refuels and takes vehicle in for annual services such as state inspection and registration renewal.
**5)** Conducts site visits with personal vehicle to assess capacity to drive WOW bus to a new community partner site location
**6)** Assist with the stocking and organizing of the supply room shelves
**7)** Other duties as assigned
Required Work Experience:
**1)** 3 years driving a vehicle requiring a CDL CL A or CL B
**2)** Excellent driving record required

Skills and Competencies:
Ability to organize and prioritize work, ability to work well with others, and communicate effectively.
Prior knowledge or experience with driving and maintaining large vehicles helpful.
Ability to drive the WOW bus (as determined by a driving test or evidence of prior experience). Good
interpersonal skills.
Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to work flexible hours.
Communicate and interact with community members, farmworkers and colleagues in a culturally
appropriate manner.
Ability to lift up to 75lbs with good body mechanics.
Must be able to climb, stand and walk.
Moderate twisting, frequent bending and infrequent squatting.
Must be able to push/pull weight short distances.
Bilingual skills in English/Spanish, preferred, but not required
